GOOD NEWS: World Cup winner will play for Arsenal next season
Former Germany international Mesut Özil has confirmed he will still be at the North London club despite rumors surrounding his transfer.
The playmaker doesn't have the best of season under Unai Emery as the manager's style of play doesn't give chance to the World Cup winner to showcase what he's got. Özil has been short of statistics this season playing 24 league Matches this season having 5 goals and just 2 assists to his name despite known as king of assists.
The 30-year old midfielder has been the talk of the media in recent times amid speculations that he's not happy with Emery and he might head towards the exit door of the club. Big clubs like Bayern Munich, PSG and Inter Milan has been trying hard to secure the Playmaker's signature but he has spoken to media on his future at the Emirates.
“I don’t think there’s a chance of that [leaving] to be honest,” Ozil told DAZN DACH.
“I’ve got two more years here and what happens afterwards is not in my hands.
“We’ll see then, but I’m proud to be at this club and really happy at this club.”
Özil signed for Arsenal 2013 and extends his contract last year January until 2021 and he claims he is more than happy at Arsenal.
Unai Emery will like to sell him off to free wage bills and use his wage to bring in two star players. Mesut Özil is currently earning £350,000-per-week more than any other player in the team making him the club highest paid footballer.
