African Church Empowers Disabled, 70 Others in Ogun




It was all jubilation galore as a Physically Challenged woman, Mrs. Feyitola Ayede and more than 70 elderly people and widows in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, this Sunday benefitted from the goodwill of a Christian group, Sons and Daughters of Grace (SDG) under the auspices of The African Church Solution Ground, Leme, Abeokuta.

The Chairman of the group,  Elder Emmanuel Olujimi stated that it was God who put it in their heart “to help Physically Challenged, widows and those in desperate needs so that they can be able to take care of themselves and their families.

Biblically it is the priority for the Christians to assist the needy, what we have done is a way of emulating Jesus , it is not that everybody has bur we wished to follow the  foot step of Jesus christ who is our leader.

''Every individual should look at his or her community and wherever you are, you should try to wipe away the tears of the needy so you will feel filled that you have helped somebody in life, they should also stretched out their hands of giving to the poor not matter how small or big''

He added that giving in love is part of God's ordained commandants as Christians look forward to more blessings and prosperity.

The major beneficiary of the empowerment programme, Mrs. Feyitola Ayede who was empowered with a grinding machine, the sum of N20,000 as a business start - up fund and was also placed on a monthly salary stipend of N15,000 for the duration of 3 years while food items was also given to over 70 aged, widows and disabled people.

Mrs. Feyitola Ayede who broke down in tears for the kind gesture she received from the group said "This is a blessing that I never imagined as it has given me a more reason to live a redefined life full of purpose".

The church also promised to give a sum of 15,000 as monthly salary to the physical challenged woman to cater for her immediately needs.

In an interview with the Director of Mission of the African Church Solution Ground, Bishop Jeremiah Okunola, popularly known as Baba Ire Owuro established that the church is following the word of of God that says  you should help the less privileged, adding that the empowerment was a result of giving back to the less-privileged.

''When you see a poor person help him, when you have the ability to help render it because givers  never  lack, the word of God encourages and propel us to help the poor and by the grace of God we will not stop in giving back to the leas priviledged ''

''The Bible says ''we should not forget the poor in the land so when you get to the land do not forget the poor because am the one who gave you the wealth so when God says you should not forget the poor so you must obey God''

''God bless you not only for your consumption but to render help to the poor, you should not forget the poor, we are blessed to bless the poor people"

'' The poor are everywhere, there are people who have wisdom and there are people who have learned one thing but they don't have the financial capacity to help themselves, it is our right as rich people

While presenting and blessing the grinding machine, Bishop Okunlola said serving God diligently pays in regardless of ones state of health. He added that government, religious homes and wealthy Nigerians needs to see giving back to the society as one of the fundamental reason for our service to the Almighty.

Bishop Okunlola therefore encouraged her to make maximum use of what she received by ensuring that she use it judiciously and profitably.

Mr. Olumide Falola expressed his confidence as God has been helping them to help the downtrodden in the society as its part of Sons and Daughters of Grace's vision to assist people in discovering their potentials while putting lasting smile on their face. He added that when God blesses man, no matter what they might have achieved in life they should try to give back to the needy no matter how small as God reward a cheerful giver in multiple folds.

Lady Evangelist Adesewa Sholola and Mrs. Ediri Ajakaye said the group which was created about seven years ago was aimed at encouraging the needy, youths and Physically Challenged through empowerment, training workshop and entrepreneurship development.

The high Point of the empowerment programme was the official unveiling of Sons and Daughters of Grace logo which was done by the Lord Bishop, Tunji Okunlola.

The foremost member of the group and one of the May Celebrants, Mr. Adeyinka Adegbite popularly known as Omobabatisa who appreciated the committee for what they have put together and for the success of the event in particular, the African Church Solution Ground Choir and other guests in attendance for their devotion to the service of the Lord, praised The Pathfinder (Sons and Daughters of Grace) for the support to the needy and prayed for continued sustenance of the programme.
