Democracy Day: Need for Rejuvenation

Over decades Nigeria has been celebrating the existence of democracy. This is a fantastic celebration of democracy and a time of rising distrust towards democratic. The question if we are operating a true democracy or not should be answered by every one of us. We should be a tireless defender of democracy all over over lives because it is the political system most conducive to peace, sustainable development, the rule of law and the respect for human rights.

Today, as we celebrate our democracy day our systems need to be reform through concrete measures in at least three (3) areas.

First, we need to make our democracies more effective and more efficient.

Second, we need to tackle inequality, both economic and political.

Third and finally, we need to champion democracy.

I want to urge us all especially my Co- youths from Ijesaland to be a committed believer in the value of democracy as a catalyst for better governance, greater security, and human development in our country.

In the same vein, the entire body of Ijesa Youth Forum Celebrates the National Assembly members from Ijesaland, Osun State and Nigeria as a whole on their successful inauguration. We congratulates Sen. Francis Adenigba FADAHUNSI, Hon. Busayo Oluwole OKE and Hon. Lawrence Babatunde AYENI ( Red and Green chambers) as  we wish their legislative years a success.

Once again, Happy Democracy Day.
Long live Ijesaland
Long live Osun
Long live Nigeria.

Leo. Comr OWOBORODE, Sunday Babatunde. aka. Owo's.
