IKIRE METROPOLIS ARMED ROBBERS MEET WATERLOO AS LOCAL VIGILANTE SURVEILLANCE TEAM CAUGHT THEM IN THE ACT.


There is this popular axiom that says "everyday for the thieves, a day for the owners". This actually played out today at the Ikire police force division, Irewole where a six-man gang of armed robbers terrorizing Ikire and environs were caught by the local vigilante surveillance team out of which two escaped while other 4 were apprehended and paraded by the police.


The surveillance division of the  vigilante group during their search operations at about 2.40 AM of 24th of June 2019, caught six armed robbers in which two escaped while they arrested four after they had successfully robbed one Mrs. Ilori.

It took serious battle with men of vigilante before they were apprehended and later handed over to the Nigeria Police for further investigation.

While parading the suspects, the Nigeria Police AIG zone 11, Mr. Leye Ajibade commended the government of the State of Osun for its effort in boosting community policing and in makeing state of Osun a crime free state. He also appreciated the unrelenting efforts of the Chairman Irewole local government Prince Aderemi Abass and his counterpart at Irewole North East LCDA, Hon Opeyemi Adeboye for their supports, LSRS and personal involvement to see to the end of the armed robbers.

The police boss also used the opportunity to charge community leaders in Zone 11 to see the feat achieved against the armed robbers as an inspiration to fish out the remaining bad eggs in the society.

Chairman Irewole Local government, Prince Aderemi Abass while addressing newsmen gave kudos to all vigilantes involved in the operation and charged them not to relent until all the criminals around us are fished out. Irewole council boss also appreciated the Deputy Governor Mr Benedict Alabi for all time assistance which is hallmark of the success.

From the suspects statements, two of them were from Ondo State while the other two were natives of Kogi State.
