Ondo State SDG In Conjunction With Good Leadership Promotion Network Holds Spelling Bee Competition.
As part of the celebration, this year's June 12 activities Good Leadership Promotion Network has carried out the third series of its SDGs Spelling.
Nationnewslead gathered the competition held in Akure the Ondo State Capital, seven schools in attended the event that had the presence of the Ondo State Government, Ondo State SDGs office and ASUU FUTA branch.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of ASUU FUTA Chapter Dr Bola Oniya encouraged the students to take their studies seriously and he also urged the government to take funding education seriously. As part of efforts to boost the economy and salvage the younger generation from the harsh reality of joblessness, he encouraged them to learn a trade and be prepared to salvage the Nigerian ship from wreckage since the future of the country lies solely with the younger generation.
The First Lady of the State Mrs Betty Akeredolu was ably represented at the event by Temitope Daniyan the SSA to Governor on Gender, did justice to the chosen theme of the event "Education, a Tool for Sustainable Development" she appreciated the efforts of the leadership of Good Leadership Promotion Network for coming up with such a laudable idea to encourage healthy rivalry amongst students. The First Lady also encouraged the students to take their studies seriously.
St. Louis Girls Grammer School came first with during the competition, followed closely by St. Mathias Anglican Secondary School. The participants at the event expressed joy for the opportunity given to test their skill and interact positively during the Spelling Bee.
Olaniyi Odina the National Coordinator of the Good Leadership Promotion Network, expressed gratitude to the Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu and the First Lady for the assistance towards the success of the event. The Coordinator also expressed gratitude to Mrs Olubunmi Ademosu for the assistance of Ondo SDGs office towards the success of the program. In his speech which he titles "Catching Them, Young is a Collective Responsibility", asked for support from relevant government agencies to do more of such programs to promote edutainment and healthy rivalry. The coordinator also expressed gratitude to all partners such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, ASSU FUTA Chapter, Olasunkanmi Cicero Foundation, Green Lunar Nigeria Limited, Ministry of Education Ondo State and 1 ARK Foundation for their support for the success of the program.
