Honourable Representing Oriade State Constituency Arc. Babatunde Desmond Ojo Harps On The Need For Community Vigilance For Improved Security In The State Of Osun.

In pursuit of my manifestoes to ensure proper representation of the good people of Oriade State Constituency, I contributed on the floor of the State of Osun House of Assembly while the House debated a Motion on the Spate of Insecurity and Kidnappings in Osun and the Southwest at large.

I specifically spoke about the unfortunate incidents around Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency such as the kidnap of a Lawyer on the Erin Oke/Ikeji Arakeji – Ondo State Boundary expressway, FRSC officials on the Iwaraja/Erinmo – Ekiti State Boundary road as well as the dastardly attack on staffers of the OSCOTech, Esa Oke earlier in the year.

In my submissions on the floor, I commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola for his efforts of meeting with security agencies and convening two security town hall meetings. I also joined the call for Local Government/LCDA Chairmen/Executive Secretaries as well as the involvement of our Kabiesis and local vigilantes groups in ensuring a crime – free state.

I also recommended the clearing of bushes/road setbacks and filling of potholes to allow easy transit. I however charged all my people in Oriade especially Landlords and Landladies to be vigilant of their tenants, neighbors and visitors into their surroundings and report anomalies to security agencies.

Let’s continue to be our brother’s keeper.
Let’s continue to make Osun one of the safest states in Nigeria.
