TECHNOLOGY IS AT THE HEART OF MODERN SECURITY DELIVERY - OYETOLA

The governor, state of Osun, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has submitted that the governments need to partner with corporate bodies and Non- Governmental Organisations to achieve success in the area of security, adding that, business can only thrive in a peaceful atmosphere.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola gave the submission yesterday at a Stakeholders' Security Summit focus on Western Nigeria which comprises of all the Southwest Governors held at Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, Ibadan organised by Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN COMMISSION).

The Governor disclosed that the governments must invest heavily in technology to be ahead and win the war.

Speaking on some of his achievements since he assumed office, Governor Oyetola stated that" his administration have refurbished over 20 Armoured Personnel Carriers and they are being effectively deployed by our security operatives".

Governor Oyetola added that the state of Osun has addressed security issues with dispatch and the highest level of resoluteness, which culminated in its ranking as the most peaceful state throughout the thirty six states of the federation in 2018.

Other Southwest Governors of Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Lagos and Oyo in their separate speeches at the summit clarified that there will be no development without security.

They stressed that their collective roles should be security of their spaces, stressing that there will be no compromise to eradicate the menace of Armed robbery, kidnapping, killings, banditry among other vices.

The Governors promised to abide by the recommendations and implementable solutions, adding that they are in support of state police.

This Security Summit comprising of all the South-west governors is the first of it's kind since  Dawn Commission inauguration in 2014.
