OSUN: Group Drums Support For Olamiju As Commissioner For Health

A group of Osun young professionals in Texas, has appealed to the state Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola to consider Dr Olasiji Olamiju - the Commissioner nominee from Obokun local government as the state's commissioner for health. 

“For A Greater Osun has observed with keen interest the clamour by some political leaders in the state for Dr Olasiji Olamiju to serve the state as the Commissioner for health. We have no option other than to join in the plea,” FAGO said.

The Group president, Thompson Ibikunle who made the appeal in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo, described Olamiju as the most appropriate, most deserving and most suitable nominee to oversee the Health ministry among the names shortlisted as being speculated on the social media.

“After a close monitoring of his activities in and out of politics, his intimidating qualifications as a Healthcare Professional, his contributions towards the improvement of health sector and his generous multimillion naira drugs donation to the Health Systems of the State, For A Greater Osun, we unanimously, without reservations, endorsed him and solicit the support of Mr. Governor,” Thompson said.

Thompson attributed the reason why they trusted Olamiju to his achievements as a successful Practicing Pharmacist and his brilliant contributions to the economic, political and social development of State of Osun.

According to the group, Olamiju has an outstanding record as a Pharmacist and with two doctorate degrees, both in Pharmacy, he has proven to be one of the brightest and vibrant Pharmaceutical doctors in the country, considering his contributions to the success story of the present administration and community health services.

“What makes his nomination particularly appealing is the fact that he has already served at the state's 6-man Special Apex Health Committee for 6 years, of the efforts is Osun Health Insurance Scheme recently funded by Governor Oyetola with 150 million naira. His credentials, years of service as an accomplished Consultant Public Pharmacist and businessman, gives him more experience and broad-mindedness than any other probable nominee. More importantly, he has a wonderful relationship with other healthcare team members” the group added.

The group then solicited the support of all well meaning people of Osun state to ensure that a round peg is put in a round hole.
