Sad! Young Man Murdered By Unnamed Personage In Ilobu


The people of Oke – Awesin, Council road area, Ilobu, headquarters of Irepodun local government were on Wednesday pitch into fear over corpse of a young man that was place in their area.



The body which was later recognize as Wale Ibrahim Sarafadeen, an ex-executive member of Ilobu National Students Union, was seen inside a gutter, in front of the Irepodun local government Secretariat by the council security guards at around 4:30am.


The departed is the first son of a prominent politician and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ilobu, Mr Sarafadeen Adeyemi.

Speaking with Nationnewslead correspondent, a prominent politician in the local government whose attention was called to the incident by the guards and who prefers to remain anonymous, said there were two places of gunshot on his (Wale’s) neck and head.


He said the moment the security men attached to the council saw the corpse, they informed him and he also alerted the DPO, Nigerian Police, Ilobu Division and the policemen arrived at the spot.

When asked if the killing was cult-related, the politician said, “I can’t ascertain that because I’m not a member of any cult group. We saw hid lifeless body in a pool of his blood with his phone and some money by his side.


“We were able to identify him through contact on his phone. The police called one woman who incidentally happened to be his step-mother.

“When she came and saw him, she went back to inform other members of the family who later came to collect the corpse for burial,” he said.



Also speaking with our correspondent, a friend of the departed, Taiwo Muritala described Wale as a cool-headed man whose death has pitch his peers in shock.

Muritala said he saw the corpse while inside the gutter early in the morning and could see that he was shot.

His narrative, “Wale runs a betnaija shop in Ifon. He was coming from the shop and going to the house when the incident happened. But I can confirm it was a murder as neither his phone nor the money with him was stolen. Only God knows why his assailants killed him as he is an easy-going man.”

All efforts to speak with the family proved abortive as they were in a mourning mood.

When contacted by Nationnewslead correspondent, the police public relations officer in Osun State, Mrs Folashade Odoro said she has not been instruct about the incident.
