35 suspected cultists held
Thirty-five suspected cultists were apprehended at the weekend in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The raids were conducted by operatives of the Nigeria Police and the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC).
It was gathered that the suspects were nabbed around 1am on Friday at an initiation venue following intelligence report that cultists and land grabbers had invaded Otta-Ikosi.
The Nation gathered that policemen from Agbowa Division and LNSC officials stormed the hideout and arrested the suspects, who were celebrating and allegedly initiating new members.
Besides the 35, it was learnt that five suspected members of the gang, who fled, were arrested while trying to board a vehicle to Ikorodu around 7:50am the same day.
