AKOL Congratulates Aregbesola, Commends President Buhari

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the last general elections, Dr. Olasiji Olamiju - AKOL have congratulated the immediate past Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola on his appointment as Minister of Interior by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement issued in Abuja by his media aide, the pharmaceutical doctor said: "I heartily congratulate our leader, a gamechanger and pathfinder on his well deserved appointment as Minister of Interior in this trying period of our national life. I have absolutely no doubt that you will bring your characteristic touch of excellence to bear on the enormous task you have been given, and with the same work ethic, commitment and dedication that signposted your incredible performance as Governor of Osun State, bring joy and relief to the Nigerian people and make the Interior Ministry a sector with which the Nigerian people will be proud".

Olamiju also commended the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari for finding Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola worthy to serve in a colossally strategic ministry in his administration and expressed the optimism that he will find his Minister of Interior a trusted, capable and dependable lieutenant in his cabinet.

Drawing Aregbesola's attention to the insecurities, national emergencies and imbalance in the recruitment of officers and men of the Prison Service, Immigration service, Fire service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Olamiju urged him to immediately roll up his sleeves and get to work with a view to rolling away the reproach which the ministry has come to represent to the people of Osun and to Nigerians at large. "It is unacceptable that the ministry cannot provide security for lives and properties of Nigerians which is one of the ministry's major functions and the recruitment carried out by the ministry in recent time are lopsided, that, must be immediately arrested and addressed."

"I am confident in your ability to perform and discharge your responsibilities with vigor and purposefulness. I am hopeful that working closely with Mr President, you will admirably transform the Interior sector of the economy for the benefit of Nigerians. You cannot fail now because you have never failed before".

Olamiju appealed to all Nigerians and Osun people in particular to give the Hon Minister of Interior all the support, prayers and cooperation he needs to succeed in his new assignment in order to deliver in taking Nigeria to the Next Level which the APC promised for the benefit of all.
