Famodun spells out conditions for Oyetola's cabinet appointment


Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has expressed his readiness to form his cabinet with active involvement of the party, All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state.


This was contained in the information passed to the leaders of the party drawn from across the state in a meeting presided over by the state Chairman of the party, Prince Gboyega Famodun, at the party state secretariat in Osogbo, today.

According to a statement issued by Kola  Olabisi, the Media Consultant to Famodun, the party chairman said, the governor who believes in the supremacy of the party would always be involving the stakeholders of the party whenever crucial decisions  are to be taken by the government.

Famodun implored the stakeholders of the party to take an advantage of the favourable disposition of the governor towards governance and submit the lists of their candidates within the specified deadline for same.

He disclosed that it was the policy of the government that each of the nine federal constituencies making up the state should submit the names of three candidates from whom eligible ones would be selected for appointment in the state cabinet.

The party chairman also disclosed that it was the policy of the government that the least required qualification for the intended cabinet appointment is a first degree, adding that no consideration would be given to any educational prerequisite less than the aforementioned requirement.

He enjoined the party leaders to meet on federal constituency basis with a view to bringing out members of the expected first eleven in the incoming Oyetola cabinet.

Famodun stated further that the candidates for the cabinet consideration must also not only be APC members but loyal ones with a very good history of favourable relationship with the party.

In the words of the party chairman: "I brought a good tiding from Governor Oyetola to you the party leaders drawn from across the state. The governor is indeed appreciative of your various efforts in support of his government.

"The governor is ready to constitute his cabinet with active involvement of the party in accordance with the supremacy of the party.

"The least required educational qualification for making the cabinet list is a first degree, according to the government", he specified.

The party chairman who enjoined the party leaders to source the lists of the candidates on federal constituency basis without rancour or skirmishes reminded them that the lists should get to the party secretariat before or on Wednesday next week.
