No Government Can Do It All ~ Gov Oyetola
The issue of road infrastructure is instrumental in the socioeconomic development of any community,yet no Government can do it all.
Governor Gboyega Oyetola gave the hint while playing host to Ayedaade Traditional Council headed by the Olufi of Gbongan,Oba Adetoyese Oyeniyi in his office.The Governor noted that his administration will not toy with road construction and rehabilitation but will give priority attention to the most useful ones first.
He urged people to pay their taxes and other dues promptly as funds so raised would be used to develop payers communities.
Reiterating his readiness to flush out illegal miners from the State, Governor Oyetola stressed that Government was ready to raise revenue from mineral resources.
He disclosed that Governors in the South West have concluded plans to pool resources to donate vehicles to assist the police in the patrol of roads.
Earlier, the Olufi of Gbongan had assured Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the support of Ayedaade Traditional Council for his administration.
The monarch advised the Governor to seek debt pardon with a promise that traditional rulers would lend a helping hand if contacted in that regard.Oba Oyeniyi of Gbongan added that monarchs could assist in raising the IGR of the State without rocking the boat.
The Olufi thanked the Governor for taking contractors back to site at Gbongan Ode Omu axis of the dual carriageway.
He sought Government's assistance in rural roads.
A Member representing Ayedaade Isokan Irewole at the House of representatives, Honourable Taiwo Oluga appreciated Ayedaade Traditional Council for their support and prayers for the Governor before during and after the poll especially when the legal tussle lasted.
