Oyetola Commissions Fire Station

The renewed commitment of the State Government  to Fire Service has put a heavy responsibility on the Staff of Fire Service unit in the interest of humanity.


Governor Gboyega Oyetola stated this at the Commissioning of Fire Service Station in Ejigbo

Governor Oyetola charged fire staff to ensure regular training of its staff on the contemporary fire fighting techniques and rapid response and as well educate the people on fire prevention in order to achieve maximum results.

The Governor added that eleven fire service stations with vehicles have been rehabilitated and equipped with fire kits to give confidence to fire fighters in their discharge of their life and property saving duties in addition to provision of Desktop phones and improved welfare package for fire officers.

The Governor disclosed that his administration will employ more fire fighters as the number of fire stations increases.

Earlier, the supervisor for home affairs,Dr Bisi Obawale had disclosed that the rehabilitation of the stations and the vehicles cost #310 million naira.

Dr Obawale enjoined the public to respect fire officers and desist from damaging their vehicles and equipment,as the Government will be forced to commit funds meant for other Social benefits into repairing the damaged fire fighting equipment.
