Just In: Security Operatives Rescue 6 Kidnap Victims In Osun
Six out of 14 kidnapped victims in Osun state, who had been held hostage by suspected herdsmen for about eighteen hours, have regained their freedom.
The victims were passengers of a commercial bus that was attacked on Sunday by kidnappers.
The passengers were ambushed at Ajeokun Junction, between Otan Ile and Imesi Ile , Obokun Local Government Area of the state and later taken to a hideout by their abductors.
According to an anonymous source, the kidnappers pointed guns at the bus and ordered the passengers to come out before they were whisked away to an unknown destination.
He disclosed that the driver would have escaped but the deplorable state of the road hindered him.
However, Osun State Coordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Chief Aladesawe Adedeji said six out of the abducted victims have been rescued.
He said the rescue was made possible with the joint efforts of OPC, Vigilante group, police and DSS.
