Orangun of Oke-Ila bags Honourary Degree in Public Administration (Honoris Causa)
The Lead City University, Ibadan will on Tuesday, November 5th confer Honourary Degree in Public Administration (Honoris Causa) on Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedotun Abolarin at the 12th Convocation Ceremony of the institution.
According to a letter signed by the Registrar of the institution, Dr (Mrs) Oyebola Ayeni and sighted by Insight Media, the award is in recognition of the Giants strides of the monarch in uplifting his subjects from poverty, support for education and promotion of peace.
The letter partly reads "On behalf of the Chancellor, Prof. Gabriel Babatunde Ogunmola, Council and Senate of the University, I have the pleasure to inform you that you are been nominated for the degree of Doctor of Public Administration (Honori Causa) of the University at the next Convocation Ceremony. The award is in consideration of your immeasurable support and selfless service to the University since inception, your credentials as a worthy role model to our students and academic community, your solid credentials in grassroots and urban development and your excellent example as a royalty worthy of emulation, not forgetting your philanthropic gestures by way of sponsorship of many indigent students from your community to be educated and lifting your subjects out of poverty with your varied efforts.
"Our honourary degrees are awarded to people of exceptional merit and character. The recipients of our honourary degrees are expected to receive the degress in person and without any obligation."
The event is holding on the campus of the institution on Tuesday.
