Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the state of Osun has said that the main goal of his administration is to give good life to the people of the state in all sectors.

To achieve this goal, Mr Oyetola stated that his administration is presently collaborating with local and international business partners to unlock the business and investment potential of the state in order to bring prosperity to the people and a desired development to the entire state.

Governor Oyetola stated this on Saturday at the 2019 Ikire day celebration.

The Governor who spoke through his Deputy Mr Benedict Alabi who doubles as the Chief host at the event said the set goal informed the economic and investment summit holding in the state next week.

According to him, the initiative is to bring the local and international business partners and investors to the state to unveil strategies and investment opportunities through which job opportunities will be created for the people especially the teeming youth as well as to industrialise the state and transform the state economy for the prosperity of all.

Governor Oyetola stated that Ikire is going to benefit a lot in the initiative for been at a strategic location along the main road that leads to the states in the South West and the other part of the country adding that this offers the ancient town a huge business advantage above any other community in the state.

He then appealed to all the well-meaning sons and daughters of Ikire both home and in diaspora to take advantage of the ongoing business and investment drive in the state to establish business ventures and facilitate development to the town.

He also called on people of Ikire to continue to maintain peace and harmony for which they are known saying that any threat to peace in the town will have implications for the business and the peace of the state and the entire Nation.

Governor Oyetola commended the people of Ikire for the sense of patriotism, peace and Enterprise and for the support being given to his administration and the progressive  governments at all time

He also acknowledged the impact of the ancient town to the economy and business activities in the state through its famous dodo Ikire delicacy using to entertain Nigerians and travellers.

He used the occasion to highlight some of the achievements of his government within the last 11 months in the various sectors which include the renovation of 332 primary health centers with one per each ward across the state, provision of 20 armoured personnel carriers and another 20 new patrol vehicles with communication gadgets as well as renovation of public schools and provision of modern facilities at each Local government in which Ikire is one of the early beneficiaries.

He announced at the programme that his government has captured the Unity Center road in Ikire for rehabilitation in the 2020
 Appropriation Bill presented on Thursday to the state of Osun House of Assembly.

"Our Administration is committed to providing social amenities for our people across the State. We are working hard to provide services and projects for every ward and Local Government Area on an equitable basis.

"The Oluofinrin Primary Health Centre in Ikire has been commissioned. the PHC in Wasinmi has been completed and will soon be commissioned while those of Omoda, Fidiwo and Islamiya are under construction and will soon be completed and commissioned for the use of the people. I enjoin you all to visit the facilities for medical attention and to ensure their security.

"In our eleven years in office, we have procured 20 Armoured Carriers and 20 security vehicles with security gadgets to protect the people in the State. The people of Ikire will continue to enjoy this security facilities.

Our government is renovating schools and providing facilities and equipment across the State to ensure qualitative and equitable education for our children to make them compete with their peers and become leaders of tomorrow.

"Ikire benefitted from the First Batch of the road rehabilitation we are doing across the State. We have embarked on the rehabilitation of  Naira & Kobo (Ikire)-Apomu-Ikoyi-Ife-Ibadan road. Unity (aka Centre Road) has been slated for rehabilitation in the 2020 Appropriation Bill.

"Our goal is to give the good life to our people in all sectors. We require your cooperation and peaceful coexistence to achieve this dream. I therefore implore you to continue to live in peace and collaborate to deliver projects to your town.

"The strategic location of the town offers it a huge business advantage. I appeal to all the well-meaning sons and daughters of Ikire at home and abroad to take advantage of the ongoing business and investment drive in the State  to establish business ventures and facilitate development to the town.

"As a town located on the popular Ife-Ibadan Road that leads to the States in the South West and the other parts of the nation, the people of Ikire must continue to maintain peace and harmony which they are known for as a beach of the peace in the town has serious implications for the business and peace of the State and the nation", Governor Oyetola said.
