Bukola Saraki And His Pitiable Press Release

_By: Busy Brain_

It has been a very intriguing December with numbers of wishy-washy scenarios in the state of harmony. War of words, banters, jibes, vituperations and tantrums have overtaken the memes of Christmas and even the new year that is in advance. After oodles of criticisms against Kwara State Governor for bringing Star Boy to Ilorin because of gala night,  these criticisms unarguably emanated from the perceived oppositions concerning the Wizkid show that ushered in " ofe ni hug" 'hug is free' jibes against the Ilorites that attended the show, either Wizkid was booked with 50million or 1million, such jamboree all in the name of socialization shouldn't have come to roost in our Quranic ranked state. Or what is the essence of that gala night?  What have we gained as Kwarans from such gathering? I think the Governor should be more focused on his revival mission rather than being distracted by irrelevances. Kwarans are watching.

After saying goodbye to gala night's war of words,  Ile Arugbo's Land saga has brought another 'gbas gbos' on social media. Recently, the Kwara State government has questioned the land ownership of Ile Arugbo in plots 1,3 and 5 Ilofa road Ilorin which was owned by Late Chief Olusola Saraki, the father of Bukola Saraki. Contrarily, the investigations conducted by the present administration revealed that the property is meant for  Kwara State government and should be used to build secretariat. This stern action has spurred many outrageous, rapacious revelation among the social media noise makers whose noises always begin and end on social media.

Sentiment apart, the Kwara State government's decision was borne out of witch hunting and an act of being vindictive. Although, the government in power has all rights to check, re check and cross check the excess  of past administration but I want to believe that, if ex Senate President Bukola Saraki still maintains the same APC party with the Governor, will Ile Arugbo's land be retrieved from him? Will the masses have an idea of the real ownership of that property till date? Funny, in politics, you become a transcient enemies once your political party and ideology varies. No politician is holy, Saraki is being faced today probably because he is no longer in the ruling party. That's the game of politics here in Nigeria.

Sardonically, a press release signed by Waziri of Ilorin to react to the decision of Kwara State government wore a pitiable look. Anyone who is not from Kwara State or has little knowledge about the wobbled and disjointed governance of Bukola Saraki in the past would pity the tone and choice of words used in the release. That press release is like inciting the living against the dead. Saraki's tone in the release doesn't portray the issue against himself but his decased Father. Well, Senator Saraki has forgotten quickly that power is never stable but in rotation. So property that belongs to Saraki can be crossed down by someone else. Nothing last forever in life.

For real, many, in their opinions, have never seen bad thing in Governor AbdulRahaman's decision because such decision can be taken over him as well by another administration in the future. What goes around, comes around. Either such decision  attempts to witch-hunt or not, it's a pay back time for Bukola Saraki and no big deal. The case of Dasuki Vs President Muhammad Buhari, Ambode of Lagos Vs Jagaban Bola Tinubu, Oshiomole Vs Obaseki, Akpabio Vs Gov Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom  have shown how stinking and funny politics can be in Nigeria.

If civil society groups and activists can drag Federal Government to court to stop death by hanging hate speech punishment, if groups can proceed to court and engage Federal Government on 37 billion naira National Assembly renovation budget, I think  our ex Senator Bukola Saraki can proceed to court and claim his right legally instead of wearing a pitiable look in his Press release. He should address the court of law with relevant documents and get Ile Arugbo back. He should face this constructively, legally and allow his deceased father to rest. No one is above the law.
