Osun Governor charged elites to carry the youths along for sustainable development.

The Governor state of Osun, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has charged the elites to continue being the developmental agents and carry the youths along for sustainable growth.

Governor Oyetola made this charge while speaking at the 2019 Iwude Ijesa Festival held at Obokungbusi Civic Centre, Ereja Square, Ilesa on Saturday, 21st Dec. 2019.

Mr. Governor who spoke through his Deputy, Mr. Benedict Alabi highlighted some of his achievements in the last one year particularly on agriculture, mining, and tourism.

According to him, “Ijesaland has being major area where mineral resources was sighted. Our administration has put everything in place to make agriculture, mining, and tourism sectors more effective and beneficial to the people particularly youths in the state”.

"Recently the Honourable Minister of mining, the Honourable Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, and the American Embassy came to discuss with us and Osun Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (OSUNCIMMA) to make use of what we have for  investment partnerships on the development of the state."

He also stressed the need for investors to come and invest in the state saying that the Osun Investment Promotion Agency has been established to further boost ease of investment in the state.

While congratulating the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland and the people of Ijesaland, Mr. Governor stated that Ijesa has been benefiting massively from the revitalization of health, education, infrastructure, and other programmes of the state government.

Governor Oyetola also used the medium to caution the people to shun rumors that can be against the progress of the state. He stated that there was nothing like dispute  between him and his predecessor.

"It's only the agent of distraction and the antagonist of peace that will carry unreasonable rumors to disintegrate the current administration and its predecessor. We're consolidating on what the previous administration has done and Ogbeni Aregbesola is our Leader. We are following his progressive steps." Mr Governor concluded.

Earlier in his speach, the Owa Obokun Adimula, Oba (Dr) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II commended the state government of Osun for its unrelenting efforts to make Osun a commercial hub in the southwest in order to make every citizen of the state to be the best they want to be.

Oba Aromolaran congratulated the people of Ijesaland for the year 2019 Iwude Ijesha festival. He prayed for the progress of Ijesaland, the state of Osun, and Nigeria as a whole.

In attendant at the occasion were, the former Governor of the state of Osun and Honourable Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who happened to be the Chief Host, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, the Speaker, House of Assembly, State of Osun, Some National Assembly members, and some state of Osun Cabinet members who were part of the Deputy Governor's entourage to represent Mr Governor.
