Federal Poly Offa Emerges As Best Affiliate Institution In Nigeria

The Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State has emerged as the best affiliate institution among the Parent Universities and Affiliate Institutions in  Nigeria.  This was disclosed during an interactive meeting organized by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC)  in Abuja on Thursday 23rd January, 2020. The Federal Polytechnic Offa in affiliation with Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINNA) was announced as the best in performance with  a grade of 99.3% out of 104 of such arrangements with Parent universities. 

The fastest growing polytechnic emerged after the outcome of the last assessment report of the exercise conducted by the commission and announced by the acting Director of Inspection and Monitoring, Mrs. Agnes I. Bamgbala.  At the meeting, the representatives of the polytechnic were recognised and applauded.

In 2018, the Federal Polytechnic Off commenced B. Tech. Degree programmes in four accredited courses with National Universities Commission (NUC). The courses include: Computer Science, Food Science Technology, Electrical Electronics Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology respectively.

In a statement issued by the Polytechnic Director of Information, Public Relations And Protocol, Mr. Olayinka Iroye, He said: "We started these B. Tech. Degree programmes in 2018 with four courses in affiliation with Federal University of Technology, Minna and we have come this far to emerge as the best in performance ranking with 99.3%. This administration led by Dr. Lateef Olatunji will not relent in putting the polytechnic at  fore front in the area of academic excellence, stable academic calendar, staff welfarism and enabling academic environment for research and development. This is a well deserved achievement for the polytechnic at large"
