Offa Poly Goes Digital, Deploys Drones On Campus For Webisode

It could be recalled that the management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa,  Kwara State  procured modern technologies and equipments worth millions of Naira to expedite practical knowledge of the  students. One of these equipments has just been deployed to field work on Tuesday, 14th, 2020 to capture pictographic elements for webisode.


The drone which was operated by expert from Mass Communication Department, Mr. Zakariyau Imran and monitored by the Polytechnic Director of Information, public Relations and Protocol, Mr. Olayinka Iroye travels afar from its base to pick objects, images and other structural elements in campus for web beacon.

In a statement released by the Polytechnic Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, (DIPR&P) he said: " this is one the management's efforts led by Dr. Lateef Olatunji to ensure the polytechnic conform with the latest facilities and equipments to ease learning process and make the polytechnic's products stand out amidst their counterparts. We have modern equipments across our departments that are always deployable for field work"

According to a student who witnessed the operation of the drones, Abdulbasit Olawale said :" actually, I do hear about drones but I have never seen one before nor do I know how it works, since I joined Offa Poly for my HND program, I could feel the difference from where I had my OND program in terms of academic, practical applications and academic calendar. In fact,  I wish I had my OND here too"

A staff of the Directorate of IPR&P and Head of Public Relations unit, Mrs. Atinukemi Abass said: " We are in 21st century and the Polytechnic is moving with trend. The era of stressing over event's coverage has passed in this polytechnic. This management will not relent on its efforts to ensure that, the Federal Polytechnic Offa remains the fastest and the best in Nigeria. This drone and other modern equipments purchased for practicals for the Mass Communication students will subsequently be used for the polytechnic's events like convocation, matriculation, and other related events. It shall also be used to monitor the campus generally.
The institution shall never relent in building talents for good transformation in Nigeria; of course, our products always stand out and we are proud of them." She added.
