Osun Dep Gov. eulogises Ashimolowo for the care for widows as Omoluabi's ethos

Deputy Governor State of Osun Mr Benedict Alabi says the welfare of the people would remain the center of  focus of Governor Gboyega Oyetola's administration while the vulnerable especially the widows would always be in the Frontline.

According to him, Oyetola's administration is irrevocably committed to supporting the people especially the vulnerable to raise their quality of life  in order to build a society that is responsible and responsive.

Mr Alabi disclosed this on Saturday while Fielding questions from journalists at Kings University Ode Omu  during an annual widows party organised by the Kingsway International Christian Center where  about 20,000 widows went home with cash and some other gift items.

The Osun Deputy Governor who was flanked by his wife Mrs Oyefunke Alabi stated that Governor Oyetola's administration has created a data bank for the widows in order to have a special plan and provision for them in the scheme of things.

He hinted that widows and their children are part of the major beneficiaries of the various services and interventions of the Oyetola's administration which include the revitalization of the nine general hospitals and 332 primary health centers with one per each ward to ensure  they have access to proper medical care.

He announced that over 2,800 selected indigent widows have been assisted and enpowerd by the Oyetola's administration with distribution of cash and grant to them as well as exposing them to various skill acquisition programmes to make them self dependent.

"All these are targeted at giving the people opportunities in the short and long run, banishing hunger and generally raising their quality of life".

"We are happy that Pastor Mathew Asimolowo is doing this to support the government in the effort of raising the standard of living of the widows.

This is one of the tenets of Omoluabi ethos for which we are known in Osun and this is good in supporting our neighbors.

For our community to be peaceful, we have to be our brothers’ keepers and let us join hands together to support government to build a peaceful and responsible society for the benefit of all" , Osun Deputy Governor stated.
