Coronavirus Outbreak: Oyetola Activates Action Committee.

Governor, State of Osun Mr Gboyega Oyetola has reiterated his commitment to ensure that life of every citizen of the state is protected against any contagious and preventable diseases.

Governor Oyetola gave the assurance on Friday during the Inauguration of the State Action Committee on response team against diseases outbreak, specifically for Coronavirus.

Activating the Inauguration of the committee at the conference Hall of the state ministry of health, Governor Oyetola who spoke through his Deputy, Mr Benedict Alabi said this is part of proactive measure put in place by his administration to protect the lives of the people of the state against the disease.

It would be recalled that a case of the disease was on Thursday confirmed in Lagos which prompted Governor Oyetola to quickly take the step in order to safeguard the lives of the people of Osun against the contamination and subsequent loss of life to the epidemic disease as done during the recent outbreak of Lassa fever.

Mr Oyetola hinted that the  activation of the action committee is to further confirm the commitment of his administration to the well-being of the people most especially their healthy living.

" We have to be very proactive in doing this and we are not just starting this journey of trying to prepare for the outbreak of such epidemic diseases but before now, we have been putting necessary things in place to enlighten and protecting our people against any disease outbreak.

"This is to show how important the lives and health of our people is to us as part of our agenda as government.

"You will remember that in recent times when there was outbreak of Lassa fever in the Country, we are very proud to say that Osun is one of the few states  where no life was lost to the disease despite the confirmation of few cases of the disease", Mr Oyetola stated.
