Covid-19: Osun Govt Receives Support From Pharmaceutical Society Of Nigerian.


The Government of the state of Osun has received  donation of thousands of acohol  based hands sanitizer by the Leadership of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria Osun State branch to support the state to prevent the spread of the deadly Coronavirus disease which is currently ravaging the entire world.

The State Deputy Governor Mr Benedict Alabi received the hand sanitizer on Monday at his official quarters in Osogbo on behalf of the state government.

He described the gesture as commendable and thanked the leadership of the state branch of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria for coming to the aid of the state government at this critical period.

Mr Alabi called on  other various associations as well as all well meaning individuals who have resources to support the government and the people in the effort to prevent the spread of the disease and to cushion the effect of the Covid-19 on the economy.

He stated further, " We really appreciate your support at this trying period that we find ourselves and we expect that others associations and organisations will follow the suit.

"It is our belief that with the support of everyone at this moment, we will surely overcome this challenge as soon as possible".

Speaking during the presentation of the items to the state government, the Chairman, State of Osun branch of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Pharmacist Kayode Adetona said the step taken by the association became necessary in view of the high rate of the spread of the disease.

"The support we are giving is part of our social responsibility as a Pharmaceutical body in supporting the Government to protect our people against this deadly contagious disease".

It would be recalled that the government of the state of Osun  has just recorded the second case of coronavirus disease outbreak which forced the state Governor Mr Gboyega Oyetola to announce and declare total lockdown of the state as from Tuesday 31st of March 2020 in order to contain and control the spread of the Covid-19.
