Ospoly Registrar Implores Registrars To Focus On Vision Of Polytechnic Studies
Registrar, Osun State Polytechnic Iree (OSPOLY), Mr. Salawu, has charged registrars of polytechnics and colleges of technology across the country to continually work towards the actualisation of the mandates of polytechnic education.
He said, “One of the ways by which polytechnics and colleges of technology can effectively and efficiently deliver their mandates is through the administrative competence of the personnel that run the institutions. By designation and competence, the registrar is the custodian of records, extant rules and regulations and indeed the engine that drives the administrative machinery of each institution.“Mr Salawu urge registrar's to continue to be innovative especially when it comes to entrenching global best practices for the good of the polytechnic system. I believe as administrators of polytechnic and colleges of polytechnics, we should at all times keep in focus the mandate of polytechnic education and working hand in hand with the academic staff, we should be able to achieve the vision of polytechnic education.”
He further urged them to be committed to providing competency based education, so that polytechnic products will be able to make positive impact in the developmental process of the nation rather than coming out to become a burden.
The Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Registrar said Registrars should interact, generate ideas and develop policies that will develop technical education in the country. “The overall aim is for us to continually align with global best practices and remain relevant to the sector.”
The Registrar, assured that the college would continue to train and empower students who make impact in the nation’s technological growth.
