COVID-19: Alara In Council Donates Personal Protective Equipments To Osun Govt.
The government of the State of Osun on Thursday received 100 pieces of Personal Protective Equipment worth millions of naira donated by Alara in Council as support to the government to contain the Covid 19 Pandemic.
Deputy Governor and Chairman Osun Covid-19 task force, Mr Benedict Alabi received the medical equipment on behalf of the governor at the exco lounge of the governor's office in Osogbo.
Mr Alabi who was flanked by some members of the Osun Covid-19 task force reiterated the commitment of Governor Gboyega Oyetola's administration to improve healthy living, welfare of the inhabitants and safeguarding the populace against the ravaging pandemic.
He pointed out that Osun is one of five states in the country that have more than 300-bed isolation facility put in place for effective and efficient management of covid-19.
The Deputy Governor attributed the achievement to the creativity, serious commitment and proactive measures put in place by the state government to contain and end the menace.
"We are happy to announce that Osun is one of the five states in Nigeria that have more than 300- bed isolation center fully equipped for Covid-19 treatment and management with about 20-room single beds and 8- bed for intensive Care unit".
"This is attestation of serious commitment and proactiveness of our Governor to contain the spread and end the global pandemic which is ravaging the entire world", Mr Alabi reiterated.
He promised the people of Ara and the state as a whole of more developmental projects while lauding them for appreciating the government over Ara-Ejigbo road rehabilitation.
He also thanked them for cooperating with the government to contain the spread of the disease in the area noting that the first covid-19 case in Osun was recorded in Ejigbo which is a neighbouring town of Ara.
Presenting the Personal Protective Equipment to the state government, the Alara of Ara Oba Olusola Windapo who is a medical expert said his people deemed it right to support the government during this global health challenge occasioned by the Pandemic.
He said they would serve as protective wear for medical practitioners in the battle against the menace.
He described the people of Ara as obedient to the precautionary measure put in place by the government to contain the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.
"We appreciate the effort of government in this trying period and we also realize that many of our health workers are risking their lives to protect the rest of us during this pandemic and we do this as a way to show responsibility and be supportive", the Alara stated.
