Dodoede Congratulates Oba Akewi On His Freedom From Detention.

A renowned Radio and Television Entertainer, Adekunle Ismail Abolade popularly known as "DODOEDE" has congratulated Mr Rotimi Jolayemi popularly known as "Oba Akewi" on his freedom from illegal detention granted by the Abuja Court after 45 days in custody.

He described his freedom as a victory over intimidation, oppression and an attempt by the powers-that-be to cage the right of the press against the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

It will be recalled that Oba Akewi was arrested over an audio track which did not appeal to the sentiments of the Nigerian Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed since the month of April, 2020.













Dodoede however, emphasize on the importance of freedom of the press and it plays a vital role in informing citizens about public affairs and monitoring the actions of government at all levels.

He urged Nigerians to continue to exercise their right to freedom of speech within the confines of laws.
