Oyetola calls for accurate data base for proper planning as he receives ID Card.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola has observed that a nation that cannot identify its own by having accurate data base of its people for proper planning is not a nation.

The Governor stated this on Wednesday while receiving his electronic identification card from the National Identity Management Commission.

The Governor described the electronic identity card as a good innovation that carries all the details of the owner.

According to the Governor, extending the issuance of the card to pupils is a welcome development as it will be a good platform for data capturing and statistics.

Mr Oyetola expressed reservations with the non challance of some residents in the State who have  not registered for the card or have not collected their own.

Earlier in her address of Welcome, the state coordinator of the National Identity Management Commission Mrs Omolara Idah had lauded the state government for its support for the federal government programmes.

She also expressed concern about people's attitude toward data capturing.

She sought the Governor's assistance in collaborating with local governments and school heads so that the Commission can achieve its goal in Osun.
