Form your cabinet without further delay, US-based group urges Oyetola

To facilitate government policies and accelerate development of the State of Osun, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola should appoint members of his cabinet urgently.

A US based Pharmacist, Thompson Ibikunle, handed Oyetola this piece of advice during a bimonthly meetings of 'For A Greater Osun' group in Houston, Texas.

He commended the strides made by Oyetola in the areas of prompt payment of salaries, road rehabilitation and security since taking over the government in Osun not minding the court distractions but added that to help facilitate the good work he has started in the state, he (Oyetola) should appoint a cabinet on time.

“It is a matter of necessity and urgency to put in place a cabinet to facilitate his policies,” he said.

Thompson, who is the President of the group - For a Greater Osun, however, frowned at what he observed as delay by the governor in appointing his commissioners and urging him to do so without further delay.

According to him, part of fulfilling one’s campaign promises is to constitute a cabinet, as no one is an island, a reservoir of knowledge or wisdom.

“I have reservation about governments making promises without fulfilling them. There is no way an individual can do it. Getting a cabinet is a way to fulfilling promises made to the people. Those who refuse to constitute their cabinets are only engaging in executive tyranny, which has no place in a democracy,” he stressed.
