Oyetola assures payment of salary arrears as Osun workers troupe out to receive him.
Governor, State of Osun Mr. Gboyega Oyetola this morning assured workers in the State that all the arrears of their salaries would be paid fully while regular full payments of salaries and pension would be sustained.
Governor Oyetola gave the good news on Monday in his remarks at a reception organised for him by the State Civil service to mark the Supreme Court Judgement of last Friday that affirmed him as the duely elected Governor
Mr Oyetola who was flanked by his Deputy Mr Benedict Alabi at the reception programme held at local government service commission hall, state Secretariat Osogbo saluted workers for their perseverance in the face of bitting economic hardship.
The Governor, however sought workers commitment, diligence and productivity so as to help his decision in the areas of workers welfare which he described as his first priority.
He stressed " this government is your government and we are partner in progress.
" I will not only sustain the full payment of your salaries but will also pay your arrears", the governor stated.
While admitting that the months of litigation had been that of distractions, Governor Gboyega Oyetola lauded workers for their commitment.
He stated further “the journey has been very tough, rough and with a lot of distractions, but now, I have no reason not to hit the ground running.
" We will now follow strictly our manifestos and campaign promises and I want to assure you, by the grace of God and support of you all, we are going to deliver on all our campaign promises".
Earlier in his remarks, the state head of service Dr. Olowogboyega Oyebade said that while the legal struggle to affirm the success of Governor Gboyega Oyetola at the poll lasted, the Governor has demonstrated an uncommon commitment to the course of civil servants in the State.
The head of service assured the Governor, that all civil servants in Osun are behind him to make him fulfill all his electoral promises.
Stressing that the Governor had achieved humbly in the last 8 months on road rehabilitation, upgrade of primary and secondary health centers as well as tight security arrangements.
Dr Olowogboyega advised the governor to hit the ground running as he now has all the time to face governance squarely
Highlights of the program were interdenominational prayers for the Governor and the entire State.
