Death of Arowolo, Ilobu APC Chair: Famodun Consoles Akinwumi
State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Prince Gboyega Famodun, has commiserated with Engr Sola Akinwumi and other members of the party in Ilobu Local Government Council Area of the state, over the recent sudden death of one of the pillars of the party in the area, Mr Rasheed Arowolo.
The late Arowolo popularly known as 'Baba Ibeji', who was the Ward 2 Chairman of the party in the Local Government Council Area, was said to have suddenly developed an ailment in the early hours of Saturday and subsequently certified dead when he was rushed to the hospital at the state capital, Osogbo.
In his eulogy, Famodun said, the late elder of the party was a charismatic leader, a reference and rallying point for all other members of the APC in Ilobu Local Government.
The party chairman who said that though death is a necessary end for all mortals also remarked that the vacuum left behind by Arowolo would be difficult to fill.
He also remarked that the deceased was a complete loyal party man who would always wanted the success of the party through his competent and diligent manner of fostering unity of purpose within the party.
The state party chairman who likened this world to a market place philosophically stated that it is the way patrons get to the market place at different times that they also leave at different times.
He said, the sojourn of mankind to this world is not based on how far but how well, adding that Arowolo had successfully finished his own race on earth, being the reason people have been speaking about his virtues when he was alive.
Famodun who also consoled the immediate family members of the deceased, appealled to them to guide jelously the good name and deeds left behind by the head of their family as this is the best honour that can be done to his memory.
He also enjoined all the APC members in the area to learn a very good lesson from the life of Arowolo by being effective in any area of their political calling in the overall interest of the people and the party.
Famodun who said no one could question God as He is the only one who giveth and taketh at will disclosed that the news of the death of the deceased on Saturday was unbelievable as he was conspicuous during the instant celebration victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola at the Supreme Court held at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, the previous day.
The state party chairman prayed for the soul of the deceased to continue to find favour from God Almighty and grant those he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The remains of the late Arowolo had since being buried in his Ilobu residence while final Fidau was held yesterday in the ancient town.
