Oyetola Warns Okada Riders Against Aiding Kidnappers, Ritualists In Osun.
Governor of Osun State Gboyega Oyetola has cautioned motorcyclists in the state against aiding kidnappers and ritual killings.
He charged them to be vigilant and work towards preventing criminal elements from infiltrating their folds, as he promised government’s support at all times.
Oyetola gave the charge on Wednesday after hundreds of motorcyclists staged a solidarity procession to his office in Osogbo, the capital of Osun state following his victory at the Supreme Court on Friday.
He commended them for the honour done on him and the state, saying his administration remained committed to the cause of the common man and downtrodden.
He said: “This is a demonstration to the fact that every section of the citizenry is with us. It shows that these people are very much with us.
“This is a surprise package for me because I was neither informed nor aware that I will be given a kind of huge honour today.
“I must reassure you our commitment to build a state aspired by all. We will not renege on our promises to take care of your welfare like other citizens.”
The Chairman of Osun State Commercial Okada Riders of Nigeria (OSCORUN), Alhaji Ismail Tiamiyu, in his remarks urged the governor to empower his members to improve their economic base.
He said the rally was organized to identify with the governor and further demonstrate their loyalty and commitment to his administration.
Tiamiyu pledged that the association would continue to contribute it’s quota to maintain peace and tranquility in the state.
