Economic Summit: UNICEF Commends Osun on Good Governance

The United Nations Children's Funds, UNICEF, has lauded the government of the State of Osun under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola over proactive governance and people-friendly policy formulation and implementation in the state. 

The international agency particularly exalted the state for being the first state in Nigeria to have approved state social protection policy and law.

The UNICEF also commended the proactiveness of the governor of the state for his early presentation of the state's 2020 budget to State House of Assembly.

Another area of achievement of Governor Oyetola in less than twelve months of assumption of office which attracted commendations of the UNICEF was the rehabilitation and implementation of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund on the ongoing 332 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state.

The government was also applauded for the "availability of the state development plan and mid term strategic plan".

A representative of the organization, Mr. Tusa, who extended the goodwill of UNICEF to the state while speaking at the ongoing economic and investment summit, congratulated the government of the state on some of the strides achieved by Osun.

He pinpointed the launch of exclusive bread feeding initiative and provision of Water Supply and Sanitation Facilities in some local government areas of the state.

The international children's welfare-centred organization also commended Oyetola led government over discernible reforms and equitable management of contributory health insurance scheme in the state.
