OYETOLA To Lay 2020 Budget Estimates Before OSUN Assembly On Monday

The State of Osun House of Assembly will on Monday, 11th November, 2019 receive the 2020 Budget Estimates of the state laying by the Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, before the Honourable House.    

This was disclosed today by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, at the Plenary sitting of the Parliament via a correspondent dated 6th November, 2019 sent to his office by the Governor of the state, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola indicated his intention to lay year 2020 Budget Estimates of the state before the House on the date mentioned above in line with the extofnt rules and regulations. The rule  stipulates that such Draft Budget should be presented to the State Assembly for consideration and approved before the end of the year preceding the commencement of such Budget Estimates processes passage into Law for the fiscal year.     

The letter of Mr. Governor heralding the laying and presentation of the Budget Estimates, according to the Speaker, appreciated the Hon. Members for their understanding, cooperation and support at all times in the collective efforts and desire to build a virile state. 

Hon. Owoeye also used the forum to announce the composition of 22 standing Committees of the House in line with the Standing Orders and Rules of the House ( Part XIX) with a charge to adhere strictly to the tenets guiding the Oversight Functions of the Parliament in the interest of members of the public to benefits and enjoy the dividends of democracy in the nooks and cranes of the state by ensuring accountability, transparency and prohibit in governance as the accredited representative of the people.   

Hon. Owoeye also today unveiled what he described as the 7th Assembly Legislative Agenda which he said is the standard practice all over the world but new in Nigeria because of the military intervention for years in the past. It is about policies and programmes plans to guide the Assembly activities in collaboration with other arms of government so as to achieve the desire goals together for the progress and development of the state.
