Oyetola lauds Ife South Chairman, Mufutau Adegbite, As the Chairman, Unveils Projects
The governor of the State Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola ably represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon Rasak Adeosun, on Friday 27th of December, 2019, lauded the efforts of Ife South Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mufutau Adegbite for invite the governor to the unveiling of projects executed by the Local Government Boss and prosecuting the twin projects.
The governor described it has a complements to the efforts of his administration to deliver services to Osun People on an equitable and qualitative basis.
Governor Gboyega Oyetola, also appreciate the love and support the people of Ifetedo have continued to give to his Administration from the beginning to now, he thank the Olubosin of Ifetedo His Royal Majesty Oba Akinola Akinrera for the leadership he demonstrated which has culminated in this support.
"These two projects are a demonstration of the love this government has for the people of Ifetedo and the mutual relationship that exists between the people and Ife South local government."
He commended all the people for their mutual love and he urges the people to continue to coexist in peace so that government's goal of delivering sustainable development will be attained.
He started that, his administration has high regards for the traditional Institutions and shall continue to empower them to perform their roles as the leaders of the people at the grassroots and the custodians of our tradition and culture.
"The provision of the solar powered street light is a part fulfilment of our goal to provide service and Projects for the good of our people".
Accoding to the governor, he said Infrastructure remains the bedrock of socio- economic development and government shall not relent in using it as a filling for providing sustainable development for the people.
He also stated that, Ife South local government has benefitted from the revitalisation of the nine General Hospitals and 332 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) one per Ward to provide qualitative health services for the people. "One hundred of the PHCs have been completed and are being commissioned across the State and Contracts for another 75 have been award and the remaining ones shall be awarded very soon".
He made it known that, Osun is set for Unprecedented transformation. He therefore seek the cooperation and support as they strive to move the state to higher heights in no distant time.
He thank the Ife South local government Chairman Hon Mufutau Adegbite and his team for their laudable interventions.
He enjoined all to continue to live in peace as development and progress can only take place in an atmosphere devoid of crisis.
The Chairman of Ife South Local Government Hon Mufutau Adegbite, has reiterated his Commitment to serve his people, he made this known today while commissioning some projects in the council Area, he commended the governor of the State Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola for his transformation agenda from which the local government has started benefiting immensely.
He also congratulates the Royal Majesty, the olubosin of Ifetedo because this event is happening during his reign as the ruler of Ifetedo and environs. And he assured the Royal Majesty that this is just the beginning of many massive developmental projects that will be commissioned during the period of his kingship.
He made it known that, before the assumption to throne of Oba Akinola Akinrera, the palace of Olubosin of Ifetedo has deteriorated significantly and the overall structure is one that falls below the required standard and elegance of a royal abode. And taking into Consideration the relevance of traditional Institutions as symbolized by the revered obas in bringing about total and rapid development to Local Communities, "it is Paramount that the obas should be provided standard and unique accommodation to suit their enhanced and elevated Status."
According to him, The palace of Olubosin of Ifetedo has become decrepit over the years because no maintenance work has been carried out on it for a very long time. It is in recognition of this problem and the need to solve it that my administration took the decision to carry out a comprehensive renovation of the palace in accordance to the taste of our king. And with the new enhanced structure of the palace, the kabiyesi can now operate withing a rich, healthy and conductive ambience that will facilitate the performance of the onerous responsibility of developing Ifetedo land and environs.
He also stated that, the second project lined up for commissioning today is the street light which the town had been deprived for long time, he said the town has not enjoyed steady power supply during the day and especially at night when the whole town is usually in total darkness and as a result of this inadequate electricity, the security of the town has been greatly compromised. Thus, because of the need to improve the security, comfort and beauty of the town especially at night.
He also stated that, the second project lined up for commissioning today is the street light which the town had been deprived for long time, he said the town has not enjoyed steady power supply during the day and especially at night when the whole town is usually in total darkness and as a result of this inadequate electricity, the security of the town has been greatly compromised. Thus, because of the need to improve the security, comfort and beauty of the town especially at night.
"My Administration constructed and installed two hundred and fifty (250) Solar powered street light in all the nook and crannies of Ifetedo town". the street light will substantially curtailed the nefarious activities of armed robbers and night Marauders, while at the same time commercial activities will be improved as traders can operate and sell their goods even at night. And in view of these advantages, his administration has decided that the street light would be extended to other Communities within the Local Government Areas.
The Chairman who purchased four vehicles to ease the means of mobility to some key local government functionaries for the offices of the council Vice Chairman, Secretary, the council manager and Head of Administration and General Services to aid them in the performance of their official duties and assignment. The purchased of that vehicles is aimed at enhancing their competence and efficiency in handling various operations for the immediate development of the local government areas.
The Chairman also informed the people of the local government of his quite a good number of projects on-going which shall be commissioned in a few month time. Some of the projects are: Construction of Oba Adegbite shopping complex at Towobaje, Construction of Block of two classroom at Poyika Luke, Construction of a block of two classrooms at araromi Awosiyan, Construction of a block of three classrooms and an office at Idi-Obi, Construction of a block of five lock up shops at Egbejoda.
He also revealed the projects he want to embark starting from next year, which are: Renovation of Ife South Divisional Office of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ifetedo., Renovation of Dilapidated Township Library, Construction of Internally Generated Revenue Post at Ife Tuntun, Construction of Chairman's Quarters, Establishment of Local Government Land Scheme.
Also revealed is the projects which had been carried out despite the paucity of fund experienced in the early period of his administration, which include: Sinking of seven motorized borehole at various locations within the local government, Repair of transformer at Baba Akodi, Repair of motorized boheroles and hand pumps at various locations, Purchase of distribution of farm implement and inputs to four hundred (400) farmers, Empowerment of four hundred (400) widows and aged People in the local government, Purchase and donation of a bus each to the Christian Association of Nigeria and League of Imams, Ife South Local Government Chapters., Massive grading and improvement of network of roads in all the towns and villages of Ife South Local Government.
He also promised the whole Ife south local government of massive Unprecedented development during his tenure as he is determined to implement various projects for the transformation of large percentage of numerous Communities.
"I want to assure you that my Administration will not fail to deliver on our promises to make Ife South a great Local Government and our good people to continue enjoying dividends of democracy".
He appreciates the governor of the State Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola for the good works he is doing in the State of Osun.
