Oyetola vows to extend ongoing roads rehabilitation to all local council areas.


Governor State of Osun Mr Gboyega Oyetola has declared the  readiness of his administration to extend the ongoing roads rehabilitation and upgrading efforts to all the local government areas across the state.


He made this known on Saturday at the Grand finale of 2019 Iba day celebration and #500 million fund raising ceremony held at the palace square Iba.

The Governor who was represented at the event by his Deputy Mr Benedict Alabi said the decision to extend the road rehabilitation and upgrading efforts to all local council areas is to bring rapid transformation to rural communities.

"Our ongoing road rehabilitation and upgrading efforts shall also be extended to all the local government areas to deliver socio economic development and open our rural areas to market and development", Mr Oyetola disclosed.

He used the occasion to highlight some of the achievements of his government within the last one year which cut across the various sectors of economy.

He stated that his administration has been able to deliver about 100 out of 332 primary health centers he intended to rehabilitate and upgrade with one per each ward in which Iba is one of the beneficial communities.  Another 75 have been awarded  while all the nine general hospitals are being revitalized across the state.

He also pointed to the ongoing renovation of school buildings with provision of instructional materials and training and retraining of teachers in order to provide qualitative education for Osun children to secure their future.

Mr Oyetola stated that the Osun Economic and Investment Summit held in the state a month ago was purposely to make the state the commercial hub of the Southwest as the summit has begun to yield positive results.

The Governor while congratulating the people of Iba on the 20th Iba day celebration however urged the illustrious sons and daughters of the ancient town both home and in diaspora to come back home and use their influence to attract development to the community through investment, infrastructure and community development projects .

"The economic strategy will work better when people participate in economic activities. Consequently, I urge all the well-meaning indigenes of Iba at home and abroad to use their influence to attract development in form of businesses, infrastructure and projects to the town", The Governor  stated.
