Fedpoffa Governing Council, Management Commend FG On Internal Road Rehabilitation Project On Campus

The Governing Council and Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State have commended the  Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Muhammadu Buhari for the rehabilitation of 2km dual carriage road  in the polytechnic main campus. 

This was contained in the welcome address of Chairman of the Governing Council, Chief Oseloka Zikora at the commissioning and handing over ceremony that took place on 12th of March 2020 in the school main campus. In his address, Chief Oseloka commended the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing for proactive gesture towards enhancing academic activities and improving the ambience of the Federal Polytechnic Offa. He said: " On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, staff, students and the entire polytechnic community, I  commend the Federal Government of Nigeria for this project. This project and numerous others embarked upon by this administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari have shown the commitment of this Government towards sustaining a conducive environment across the tertiary institutions in Nigeria and I want  to assure the Federal Government that this polytechnic will not relent its efforts to contribute greatly to national development through technical education, academic research and entrepreneurship development.

Also speaking at the handing over ceremony, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Dr. Lateef Olatunji in his opening address lauded the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) and expressed pleasure in President Buhari led administration for giving attention to education and creating convenient atmosphere for academic to flourish across tertiary institutions in the country. The rector further stressed that President Buhari has demonstrated his commitment to the advancement of this country by ensuring that internal roads within Federal institutions in the country are rehabilitated and the administration has also been assisting institutions through Tetfund and other relevant bodies.

Dr. Olatunji however called the Government's attention to other feeder roads that requires intervention in  the polytechnic. He said: " This road will be further cherished by the Polytechnic community as it has not only added to the physical aesthetics of the polytechnic but has given a psychological relief to the staff and students of the Polytechnic who hitherto experienced excruciating movements on the road because of its former deplorable state. Therefore, we would not cease to modestly request for more of this kind gesture as there are other feeder roads in the polytechnic requiring similar attention. On this note, we seek an extension of your assistance for these feeder roads"

While giving vote of thanks to dignitaries and invited guests present at the ceremony,  the Registrar of the Polytechnic, Mr. Adetunji Oni applauded the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing who was represented by Kwara Federal Controller of Works and Housing, Engr. Wasiu Atitebi and assures the Federal Government that, the road will be carefully maintained against reckless driving.
