Osun Online Media: We'll Adopt Best Practice, Strategy To Discharge Our Duties - OOMPA Discloses During A Courtesy Visit To CPS, Governor Oyetola

The Executive members, Osun Online Media Practitioners Association (OOMPA), paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Ismail Omipidan to Governor Gboyega Oyetola, in his office, at Government Secretariat, Abere, Osogbo on Thursday, 12th March, 2020.

The Chairman of the association, Jare Tiamiyu while making his remark, revealed that they will involve all best practices and strategy as a professionals in discharging their duties.

"We are here on official purpose to consolidate a working relationship with the CPS office where and when necessary.

Speaking further, Tiamiyu noted that members of the association are credible and always adhere strictly to the ethics of the journalism profession.

The Online Media commended the Governor's media aide for qualities representation in delivering their roles to the people.

" Creating a solid relationship will no doubt be beneficial to both parties as this will bring about good service delivery from government to the people and the feedback from the people to government, thereby standing as the intermediary between them" OOMPA exco said.

Meanwhile, in his response, the CPS, Mr Ismail Omipidan thanked the association for the visit and assured OOMPA  executives for paying him a visit while he pledging to make online media one of his top priorities so as to ensure information about the working and functions of government get to the people at the grassroots.

Omipidan expressed the readiness of his Office to partner with the association in promoting the programmes and activities of the State government.

"The government allowed constructive criticism with facts", he said.

Omipidan, however, urged members of the Association to always fact check and verify stories before publishing them online adding that his office is open to the members.

He urged members of the public to continue to support the government of Ogbeni Oyetola and pray for a successful tenure, and also pay their Taxes for the development of the state.

Also present during the visit are; Tajudeen Hammed; Secretary, Ismail Kolapo; Treasurer, Bright Olorungbotemi; Public Relations Officer, Idowu Yusuff; Welfare Officer and Adesoji Omosebi; Immediate past chairman.

Prudent financial management and creative thinking have been described as the secrets behind the success of the Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.

This was said by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ismail Omipidan today when he paid a host to the leadership of Osun Online Media Practitioners Association in his office in Osogbo.

The media aide to the governor said apart from being a prudent financial manager, Governor Oyetola has deployed top-notch creative thinking in piloting the affairs of the association.

He called on people of the state to remain steadfast in their support to the government of the state, adding that Governor Oyetola will continue doing things in the best interest of the masses.

While appreciating the journalists in the state, Omipidan also encourage media practitioners in the state to ensure they remain professional in discharge of their duties.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of OOMPA, Jare Tiamiyu, said the purpose of the visit was to consolidate on the existing working relationship that exists between the online media Practitioners in the state and the media unit of the governor and to officially welcome the CPS to the state as the visit was first since his appointment.

Tiamiyu also assured the CPS of strict adherence to professional ethics of journalism by its members, adding that they will remain partners in progress.
