... NASS assures NSP of periodic engagement with members
The leadership of the Nigerian Students Parliament (NSP) paid a courtesy visit to the Majority of the House of Representatives in National Assembly last week. The visit was to further strengthen the relationship between the National Assembly and the Students Parliament.
The Students Parliament in a way of encouraging the lawmaker and national icon presented an award of examplary leadership and induction as life patron.
The parliament leadership through the speaker stated some shortcomings of the students legislative platform which included support from stakeholders and prayed that the National Assembly would give the needed attention the parliament deserves.
In acceptance, the majority leader of the house of Representatives Rt. Hon. Alhassan Doguwa Ado commended the leadership of the Nigerian Students Parliament for coming up with such a wonderful initiative to contribute meaningfully to nation building.
He further admonished the Students Parliament to be more concerned on quality leadership and subject self for mentorship adding that the Parliament should not be used as a tool to beg stakeholders for peanuts. He lastly assured the Students Parliament of his maximum support, stressing that he would consult the entire leadership of the house of Representatives to promote bills emanating from the Nigerian Students Parliament. He lastly tasked the leadership to come up with ideas that would foster Students appetite for education.
