Reason Why Omolade Was Suspended Ede Poly Deputy Rector Reveals
The deputy rector, admin of the federal polytechnic, Ede, Mr Isaq Adelabu, has revealed more details on the reason a senior academic staff member, Mathew Omolade was suspended from the institution.
Recently their were allegations and counter allegations bothering on nepotism, abuse of power and plagiarism where the embattled barrister has threatened legal action against the rector, Dr. Adekolawole Edaogbogun.
"Barrister Mathew Omolade sought for promotion, thus, he presented 4 papers and it was discovered that 3 out of 4 papers he presented were plagiarized i.e someone had presented the same paper before him for promotion, he only removed the cover and represent.
"A committee was set up to investigate the matter, it was discovered that out of four journals he presented, three were plagiarized. Same papers were given to external accessor to investigate, after investigation the lecturer was asked to present source of his documents, unfortunately, he couldn't.
"Thus, the committee made a recommendation which was forwarded to the council for final approval, but due to the pandemic ravaging the country, the council couldn't meet
"In order to safe the face and integrity of the institution, the senior management now recommend that Omolade should proceed on suspension based on normal rule that says whoever under investigation must proceed on suspension till the outcome pronounce him guilty or not guilty - this was the result of his boast that he will blackmail the rector.
"Instead for Barr Omolade to accept the decision of the management in good faith, he went ahead to blackmail the rector of nepotism and abuse of power.
